Long-awaited gathering...

Event: Cousins Get-together a.k.a. Cucu Hasan's Gathering
Venue: D'Rimba, Kota Damansara
Date: 16th August 2009
Time: 4pm to 7pm (supposedly) - which ends up from 6 to 9.. ha ha.

My cousin, Eppy, is a newlywed (well, March 2008 wasn't that long ago.. =P) and just moved in to their new apartment. It is so hard to get everyone together (well, not everyone per say, only about less than 30% of all Tokki Hasan's grandchildren aka the middle generation), as one of us is studying in Ireland, one in Scotland, some are working and some are studying.. So the best date is the very last weekend before my departure. He he he.

It was a potluck party, so this is what I baked:

Carrot Cake with Orange Cream Cheese Frosting

Oh, and I also baked bread pudding with custard sauce with the help of my dear cousin, Miza. *wink*

On a different note, I went to 3 schools today for my data collection, and did my data entry for 41 questionnaires! Talking about a productive day! =D

Time flies!!

I have finally been granted a status as a researcher here in Malaysia! Yeayh~! You can even look me up in the Online Research Information Database (oriDB)! haha. I got the required approval letter and a researcher pass to proceed with my final year project here in Malaysia.. and I only got 5 DAYS left for my data collection!! A school a day is good enough when I only need around 50 subjects more. Oh well.. not too bad I guess.. =P

Time flies! I can't believe I'm going back to Cork early Saturday morning (22nd Aug) finishing this battle as a FINAL YEAR MEDICAL STUDENT.. Wish me luck, people!! I got headaches just thinking about being in final year. The layout for next one year is out and I have to be out of Cork for 2 rotations.. Not too bad, I guess.. Kinda looking forward to be in Clonmel and Limerick again to be honest. =)

Anyhoo, I think I have spent a good 2 and a half months here in Malaysia this year. A very productive summer holiday indeed. No complains. I still got the chance to spend my time with my loved ones even with all the work has to be done. I even had the chance to spend some time with my BF's family (as his parents' house is nearby Putrajaya, where I had to go back and forth to settle this project thingy). *wink*

As usual, it is hard for me just thinking about going back to Cork after a good summer holiday. As hard as it is, I am looking forward to finish my course and InsyaAllah, come back home for good next time around.. =)

See you next time! In Cork maybe...? =D

What's the story, morning glory...

Since I've been back in KL, I've been so busy.. Going up and down government's offices all over the place just to get my project up and running. The thing you should know about these people are:
1. they never pick up their phones.
2. they always hand you over to someone or someplace else.
3. they have no idea what other departments do.
4. it takes them ages just to write a simple letter and to get the signature from the right people, so it's better to hand in the letters/documents on your own rather than wait for them to fax/email/post them.
5. they don't know what their emails are for.
6. some people are just not friendly and not helpful at all.

okay, i'll stop the list now or else i'll be going on and on about it. I'm sorry if it seems like i'm over generalizing things, but after all the things i've been put through, i can't help but to make this conclusion.
well, i am grateful to those who helped me a lot, especially the person in charge in the EPU (yes, I have to go to EPU even though my project is a small scaled project for undergraduate purposes). The friendliest and the most helpful so far.

I'm signing off for now. Will update soon..
Later~!
