Belated Birthdays~!!

28th September
Kak Ita, my sis-in-law

The celebration was at home. My brother took his lovely wife for a romantic birthday dinner and they came over afterwards with the children for the brownies!! =D

29th September
Miza, my cousin

We celebrated Miza's birthday last weekend, as she's studying in Johor. Our aunt brought us to Tony Roma's for her b'day dinner. I had the Chicken Pesto Salad which was to die for!!

Then we head to Starbucks, of course.
To burn all the calories off, we then had countless rounds of PS Rock band~! I love playing the drum, it really tests your coordination! And I got this singing one of the Beatles' hit (can't remember which) *woot woot*

30th September
Anchik, my brother
- no pictures because no celebration - =P
It's harsh being a guy who's getting older.. hehe. kidding2..

My Ramadhan Routine

If you've been wondering what the heck am I doing during my free time now that I've finished my degree but still haven't started working, allow me to tell you..

Most of the days, early in the morning, I would accompany my sister to the market (Pasar Dato' Keramat) to get her supplies of fresh meat as well as some groceries for break-fast and dinner. And now, I'm starting to learn my fishes and what type of cooking is suitable for each fish. I told you, I am a domestic goddess in the making. heh.

When we got home, my sister would start cooking her Daging Cincang Asam Pedas which will be sold in Bazaar Ramadhan.
Yummy~!!

Myself, on the other hand, would help out my neighbour for his Pucuk Ubi Tempoyak for Bazaar as well. Help out as in volunteer work, and in the West, you still got paid for volunteering, so I will get my pay at the end of the month. =P

After I've worked my biceps (right arm mainly), chopping and slicing, I would then help my sister out with her cookies, thus building my right biceps some more, rolling the dough.

After prayers and some rest, some days we might go to super markets to get some groceries, and pick up the kids from school. Got home and help out my sister in the kitchen for our break-fast and dinner. Since this Ramadhan, I've only been to the bazaar once! (when I thought that was the thing I miss about fasting in Malaysia).
And I've been to the surau once for tarawikh as I am too tired to leave the house. I would do it on my own at home if I do not doze off first.
My niece, Jasmine, waiting for tarawikh

That's basically how I spend my day this Ramadhan.

So, if you're looking for Kampung style food for buka puasa (Daging cincang asam pedas, pucuk ubi tempoyak with or without petai, ikan patin masak tempoyak and daging salai lemak cili padi), you will find the stall in Taman Melawati's Bazaar Ramdhan. You won't miss it, just look for this periuk belanga. ;)

New room

Since I got back, there has been a big project going on in my room. My dad had extended my room, repaint and last Friday bought a new wardrobe from IKEA. =)

My PAX wardrobe is something like this..

But I wish for something like this.. =P (soon...)

After shopping in IKEA, Mr Boyfie & I went to PappaRich for an early dinner.

Steamed curry bun

Hainan Chicken Rice

Weird combinations of drinks but really delicious - (Longan Milk Honey Ice & Soy Milk with coffee jelly or something like that..)

Toast with condensed milk.. yummmmm

What an experience!!

Us 3 girls from Carriglea who are left in Cork went out for dinner earlier on with some of our classmates in an Indian restaurant nearby. Then we decided to walk to city centre for a cup of coffee and dessert. It feels as if the day is still early though it was already 10pm when we were walking home. When suddenly, this drunk insane guy from across the street saw us and decided to cross the street towards us with his drunken-gait.

For those who doens't know what Cork is like on a Sunday night, I'm telling u, it's quiet and empty... So when this crazy guy was following us, we picked up our pace and walk straight on. We walked even faster when we heard footsteps getting closer. Then we realized it was another girl walking alone so fast and basically we were having a walk-aton race between the 4 us.. because the drunk was just a few steps behind. We were so scared that we started running because he was so close, then he shouted, "Sh*t!!".

My friend's theory was he wanted money from us to buy more booze. We were almost saved when he wanted to cross to the other side when he saw a couple walking towards the other way, but he almost got hit by a car and decided to stick to our side of the road and keep on following and shouting! That's when we started to run as fast as we could and steered our way into Farranlea Hall (student's accommodation). Thank God the gate was open, when it is usually not. We ran up one flight of stairs and stayed there panting. One of us almost tripped TWICE! =P
So we stayed there for quite some time trying to get hold of some guy friends who are willing to save our day. David, our hero! He walked us home and we're safe and sound at home now.
The moral of the story is: DON'T COME HOME LATE, GIRLS!!!!

These pictures have nothing to do with the story.. Hmm, well.. Hopefully the calories were burnt when we ran.. ha ha ha

Comfort food... yum2~!!

Japanese Food Weekend Madness!!

As you probably would have known, I LOVE JAPANESE FOOD~!!

We kicked off on Friday with Salmon teriyaki by Kaksus for dinner.. simply delicious~!!

Then prepared sushi rice last night and roll them up today with Kaksus! It's my first attempt of making them on my own.. I love to eat them but that doesn't mean I know how to make them.. =P. Usually my housemates make sushi on my request, and I eat them all.. *wink*

Had my brunch of sushi & miso soup

Top it off with a steaming cup of ocha (Japanese green tea - though it looks like normal tea here, believe me it's green) =P .. Aaaahhh, yum2!!

Shop 'til I Drop..

1st night in Dublin, meeting up with Didi~!!

What did i do during the holiday?? Well, it was all about shopping and food~!!!
I went to Dublin and hang out with friends. We had our own little X-mas lunch, eating the most delicious roasted chicken I've ever tasted, J. Oliver's style, with potato gratin (yum2! drooling~!)
On Boxing day, we had a little road trip up to Belfast and splurged ourselves on a shopping spree~!! It was a shopping heaven in the UK really, due to the economy glitch (1 euro = 1 pound).. Couldn't hope for more!
It was more beneficial for my friend, who's expecting.. After calculating all the expenses including the petrol and all-stuff-u-need-for-a-newborn, they still save a lot more than shopping in Dublin.. Cool eh?
The next day was the starting of winter sale in Ireland, so another round of impulsivity and recklessness. =P. Some of the x-mas gifts I bought to shower myself with are: Mango jacket; formal wear for clinics from Dorothy Perkins, Zara, Jane Norman; gladiator from Oasis; skinny jeans from DKNY; Givenchy perfumes; Spotlight dress from Warehouse which I had lay my eyes on since April and etc etc etc.. =P
The last night in Dublin, we went to a Japanese restaurant and I had the most filling plate of sushi.. yum2~!
